Grade: A 100%
The Physical Education course required through my accredited online school, Clonlara School, is based entirely on hours of activity. To get this year’s one credit, I needed to do a total of 180 hours of physical fitness.
To achieve the bulk of these hours, I used my treadmill, elliptical, and rowing machine (ergometer, or erg as they say colloquially).
Specifically for my work on the erg and to improve my rowing expertise, I watched many YouTube videos put out by USRowing because I planned to take part in a rowing camp this summer and eventually be on a team.
How could I have imagined that COVID-19 would cancel my upcoming rowing camp and sqaush my rowing dreams… at least temporarily?
I’m still glad I took the extra time to learn more about rowing because it will help me when life gets back to normal and I can hopefully continue to pursue my rowing interest.
In addition to the erg, treadmill, and elliptical, I used free weights and my backyard monkey bars to build my upper body strength. I also utilized our community’s indoor pool… back before COVID-19 closed it, that is.
