Music – Performing Arts II

Grade: A 100%

For my continuation of my music learning, I stretched my wings a little more. While I continued my School of Rock studies that I’ve highlighted in vlogs in previous years, I decided to also begin a homeschool choir. It was an hour-long class that met once a week. My School of Rock group lessons were 1 hour and 30 minutes each week. In addition, I allowed for ample practice time to improve my skills.

This particular choir was new to me. I’ve done a homeschool one in the past and loved how they even performed a concert at the end. This one, to my regret, did not have a concert. So, even with my School of Rock studies, I still didn’t quite get as much performance time as I had hoped for.

To get my fill of it, I decided to create what I thought was a pretty ambitious music project. I created a vlog of my parody of Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train called Christmas Train. In it, I used my green screen, and some technical effects I put together with iMovie, Werble, and Bookbrush. I was pretty satisfied with the final product.

In addition, I created another music video called Blondie Parody: One Week Till My Birthday Music Video!

But wait- there’s more! That’s not the end of my musical journey. Recently, I’ve begun to work on performing a lot of songs for an open mic night. I also learned how to play on guitar and sing Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell, Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper, and a few songs from classical musicals like My Fair Lady.

I received an A for my work based on feedback from my choir instructor, School of Rock instructor, and my work on my vlog.
