English 1 A and B

Grades: 97.27% in English 1B, 100% in English 1A

For English 1A and 1B, I did the curriculum offered though my online school, Christa McAuliffe School Of Arts And Sciences, for freshman year.

As CMASAS describes this course in their course catalog:

“English I is an introductory course covering a variety of literature genres, spanning classic and modern works. Students develop composition skills using a variety of patterns of development. Vocabulary development, literary response and analysis, grammar, and listening and speaking skills are also learned and practiced. English I provides a foundation of knowledge and skills for future English courses.”

Some of their readings include Beasts and Super Beasts/The Open Window, The Monkey’s Paw, The Masque of the Red Death, The Cask of Amontillado, The Necklace by Guy De Maupassant, The Story of an Hour, and The Gift of the Magi.

By far, the most interesting part of this course for me was the writing. Some of my projects include My Goslingeal Blog Entry, a term paper called To Swim or Not to Swim… with Wild Dolphins, Types of Irony, Figurative Language Scavenger Hunt, Identify Irony, and I learned about Native and Neoclassical English Prefixes and Medical Roots, Suffixes and Prefixes.
